Dot Top® end technology has been used for more than a decade in Brazil by leading, multinational brands whose sales have benefited from this consumer-preferred lid. Successful conversions include products such as spaghetti sauce, dairy, olives, mushrooms and others. Additionally, Dot Top® ends made their U.S. debut a few years ago on Hirzel Canning Company’s Dei Fratelli® pizza sauce.

The metal lid features a small tab (or dot) which is peeled back to release vacuum. The consumer can then easily remove the Dot Top® end—without any twisting—just by lifting off the lid. If the contents are not entirely consumed, the lid easily snaps back in place providing sought-after reclosability. Click here for video.

Cans using Dot Top® lids can be hot-filled, closed with mechanical vacuum or retorted with overriding pressure.
